H2D Handshake2Deutschland, the planned information channel for refugees and helpers, will broadcast via satellite on Astra (19.2 degrees East).
Test transmissions have already commenced on the frequency 11.421 GHz H (SR 22,000, FEC 5/6). A caption announces that the launch is currently under preparation and will take place soon. The signal is unencrypted.
H2D wants to provide refugees with practical assistance and orientation regarding life in Germany and German culture, thereby aiming to support social integration.
The channel will also be available on cable with carriage having already been secured on Unitymedia’s network.
