Grundig selects NetRange for 4K TV sets

February 11, 2016 13.40 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Grundig TV-Plattform Ultralogic 4K Home (Grundig Intermedia GmbH)German consumer electronics brand Grundig and white label smart TV solutions provider NetRange have agreed on a collaboration regarding Grundig’s new TV platform Ultralogic 4K which will run on Grundig’s Ultra HD TV sets as well as on TV sets of parent company Arcelik.

Grundig will use NetRange technology for the Smart Interactive TV 4.0 portal available on its Ultra HD smart TV sets. Users in countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Turkey will be able to choose between more than 1,000 apps, among them VOD providers acting both internationally and nationally. NetRange’s smart TV solution also offers more than 100 cloud gaming titles, turning TV sets into a competitor of games consoles.

Grundig will apply a new user interface based on a recently developed smart TV operation method that allows easier switching between linear TV channels and smart TV applications.

“We are happy that Grundig is our first client to choose our completely new portal. Thanks to the new platform, which gathers the most diverse categories ranging from VOD to cloud gaming and thus contains everything smart TV is currently able to offer, we reach all generations of users”, Jan Wendt, CEO of NetRange, said in Hamburg. “With a market share of more than 8% in the German TV set market, Grundig is an important strategic partner for NetRange.”
