SES inks Ukrainian deal

February 4, 2016 09.13 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

SESSES has signed a multi-year agreement with Ukraine’s Inter Media Group for additional capacity to broadcast TV channels on Astra 4A at 5 degrees East.

As a result, the group will distribute six additional channels, alongside its two leading services Inter and NTN, on the satellite.

Commenting on the development, Norbert Hölzle, senior VP, Commercial Europe at SES, said: “We are very excited to extend our partnership with the largest media group in Ukraine.

“This partnership shows Inter Media Group’s confidence in our ability to deliver best-quality broadcasting services and confirms SES’s leading position in the region.”

Kiev-based Inter Media Group was founded in 2005 and includes the channels Inter, Inter+, NTN, K1, K2, Enter-film, Mega, Zoom and Pixel TV in its portfolio.

It has been a subsidiary of GDF Media since 2013.
