Romania’s National Audiovisual Council (CNA) has approved its annual list of 30 must-carry channels on cable networks.
Media Expres reports that the list, which was compiled through audience ratings produced by ARMA, includes the channels Estrada and Telestar. Quoting Razvan Frinculescu, the council’s VP, it adds that the first 25 channels on the list are unchanged from last year.
The must-carry list is headed by the public broadcaster’s channels TVR1, TVR2, TVR3 and TVR News, along with its regional channels in Cluj, Craiova, Iasi, Targu-Mures and Timisoara.
Also on the list are France’s TV% and Moldova 1, in accordance with international agreements, as well as all the main commercial channels in Romania, headed by Antena 1, Antena 3, Kanal D, Romania TV, National TV and Prima TV, along with lesser known services such as Estrada and Telestar, with low ratings.
Cable operators will have 30 days to update their grids following the publication of the list by the CNA.
