Nearly one in ten (9%) Polish adult internet users are video cord cutters, according to Iwona Kowalska, country manager Central Eastern Europe at Dolby.
Discussing the findings of a survey undertaken by Kagan, she added it also found that 19% of total internet households in Poland do not subscribe to a multichannel TV service and among these non-multichannel households, 36% are cord nevers and 6% cord cutters.
The survey found that among the 81% of internet households that subscribe to a multichannel TV service, the main service providers include Cyfrowy Polsat (DTH), UPC Polska (cable) and Orange Polska (IPTV). Furthermore, 77% of multichannel subscriber households also receive FTA broadcast TV programming (DTT or satellite).
The survey also found that online VOD is popular among internet households, being viewed by six in 10 of the total. Over half (52%) view streamed full-length online video programming and 44% reported viewing catch-up TV programming over the last three months.
Interesting, almost half (47%) of internet adults also indicated that they had binge-viewed TV shows over the past three month.
