Freesat has promoted Jennifer Elworthy to become director of marketing and communications.
Elworthy joined Freesat in 2013 as head of marketing and communications. She’s been involved in delivering Freesat’s marketing initiatives including the continued growth of Freetime, the free-to-air platform’s connected TV offering.
Prior to joining Freesat Jennifer worked at The Times where she led campaigns to market print and digital subscriptions, and at the BBC where she worked across the international launch of BBC-branded channels. She is an alumna of the Marketing Academy and a non-executive director of Digimeal, a digital start up.
Commenting on the appointment, Freesat managing director Alistair Thom said: “I’m thrilled to promote Jennifer to her new role. Over the past three years she has shown herself to be a true advocate of the brand and a natural strategic thinker. With a significant shift in the way we position our offering having taken place, most notably through Freetime, Jennifer will continue to shape and drive our connected offering.”
Jennifer succeeds Paul Gilshan, who leaves after three years at Freesat to join employee benefits car company Tusker as CMO.
