Telenor Norway has begun an upgrade of its network that will offer a greater capacity for thousands of homes and businesses in the country.
“It’s not every day we can say to our 60,000 customers that they will get better broadband capacity,” says Birgit Bjørnsen, director for fixed line and TV in Telenor Norway. “We see a huge growth in customer web traffic from year to year, and it is therefore very important for us to have an aggressive development of the network so that we can provide high-speed broadband adapted tomorrow. Through the investments we are making at the fiber laying and upgrading of exchanges, both residential and business customers will benefit from better services and experiences.”
The upgrade that begins today will see Broadband 50/15 customers move to speeds of 75 Mbps; upload speeds will increase to 25Mbps. The name of the package will also change to 60/20. Broadband 10 customers will enjoy speeds of 20 Mbps.
Readers will note the relatively low speeds when compared to some cable offers.
