Bernd Wendeln took over as head of the corporate development and M&A division of German media company Tele München Gruppe (TMG) on January 1, 2016.
In his new role, Wendeln will promote development of the core business and digitalisation, TMG announced in Munich.
Wendeln joins TMG as former vice president M&A/corporate development of TV group ProSiebenSat.1 where he was responsible for transactions in the areas of TV, TV production and digital/online video.
For ProSiebenSat.1 he was also a member of the supervisory board of the corporate holding Collective Digital Studio, a YouTube network in the US.
Before ProSiebenSat.1 he worked for several years in private equity, including Allianz Capital Partners, and in investment banking.
“With his extensive experience and contacts in the fields of media, corporate development and private equity, Bernd Wendeln will make a significant contribution to the growth of the Tele München Gruppe,” said Herbert L. Kloiber, managing director of TMG. “His role will be centred on establishing new digital business models and strategic diversification of the group’s activities.”
