Austria’s incumbent telco A1 is now carrying the thematic channels DocuBox HD and Fast&FunBox HD channels from the SPI International/Filmbox pay-TV portfolio in its A1 Premium TV pack.
As previously reported exclusively in Broadband TV News, SPI International was planning to enter the Austrian market.
It has also recently entered Germany and Switzerland.
Commenting on the Austrian launch, Berk Uziyel, executive director for SPI International / Filmbox, said: “We are excited to have launched our documentary and adrenaline sports channels as premium part of A1 TV. This is one of the initial steps in our channel distribution expansion in Western Europe. We are also pleased to continue our multi-territory cooperation with Telekom Austria”.
The two channels are being offered in their English language versions.
