The Polish public broadcaster TVP has written an open letter to the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) asking for its intervention “in order to clarify the intentions of state authorities regarding the planned regulations on public media and their time range”.
In the letter, TVP identifies one of its main concerns as being the possibility of its customers having a say in the allocation of ad revenues invested in the broadcaster.
It adds that given its current financial structure, in which advertising provides the most revenues, a reduction in such revenues would pose a threat to its financial stability.
