Charlie Ergen, the founder of pioneering US satellite platform DISH, is stepping down from his role as company President.
It’s part of a series of changes at the operation that’s now struggling with subscriber erosion. Erik Carlson, a 20-year veteran at the company, will take charge of customer acquisition and retention, along with the company finances and the newly formed Technology Office.
Current DISH COO and EVP Bernie Han was named EVP of Strategic Planning and will continue reporting to Ergen, who continues as CEO and President.
Ergen only returned to the top of DISH earlier this year.
