The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission (LRTK) has deemed the Russian channel RTR Planeta to have violated Lithuania’s Public Information Act, which prohibits incitement to hatred and war.
As a result, it has ordered re-broadcasters to move the channel to packages for which an additional fee is required, with the action being in force for 12 months following its adoption.
The LRTK has previously acted against RTE Planeta, initially in March 2014 when the channel was suspended for three months, and again in April this year, also for the same period.
In this instance, the offending programme on RTR Planeta was broadcast on November 29 and called for the bombing of Turkey.
