Magyar Telekom’s relationship with the Hungarian government has improved considerably in recent months.
Quoting an interview with the company’s chief executive Christopher Mattheisen in the publication Figyelö, Portfolio reports that both parties have reevaluated their relationship, partly as a result of the internet consultation.
Furthermore, following the reduction of VAT on internet services from 27% to 18%, there are now signs that the telecom tax may soon also be reduced.
As previously reported in Broadband TV News, such a move was first mooted in February 2014 and more recently earlier this year.
