RTL Netherlands to handle A+E ad sales

December 3, 2015 11.16 Europe/London By Robert Briel

A+E Networks and RTL Netherlands have signed a two years contract for advertising and sales activities in the Netherlands.

As of January 1, 2016, RTL Netherlands will provide sales spot and non-spot advertising for both History and Crime + Investigation (CI), including branded content and programme sponsorships.

Nicolas Eglau, COO at A+E Networks UK, and GM for Benelux, Nordics, Poland and South Africa, says: “Our brands now reach over half of all Dutch homes so this is a great time for A+E Networks to join forces with RTL Nederland. With their proven track record of delivering highly-effective ad sales strategies, RTL is the right partner to help us identify and deliver more valuable opportunities in this important market.”

Ton Rozestraten, CCO RTL Nederland, added: “With the two A+E channels, History and CI, and our existing portfolio we are able to guarantee our advertisers more selectivity and reach.”

Today’s announcement follows the news that A+E Networks UK, which also serves the Dutch market, has signed a pan-European agreement with Liberty Global. This includes the addition of History to the Dutch Ziggo basic tier, making the channel available to 3.3 million subscribers, an increase of 2.2 million subscribers.

Nicolas Eglau joined A+E Networks last September, coming from RTL Nederland.
