The proposed acquisition by Arris of UK technology firm Pace is now full steam ahead following approval from Brazil.
The Brazilian competition authority CADE has indicated it will give its approval to the takeover. Clearance is expected to become final on December 19, 2015, following Brazil’s mandatory appeals period.
Once complete, it will mark the end of a lengthy consultation process that has also taken in the regulatory bodies of the United States, Columbia and Germany, Portugal and South Africa
Arris expects to close the $2.1 billion transaction in early January 2016 following the Brazilian clearance becoming final and the sanctioning of the scheme of arrangement by the Companies Court in the UK.
