New OTT service TV.de launches in Germany

December 1, 2015 11.44 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

TVde Screenshot (Couchfunk)Zattoo, Magine TV and TV Spielfilm live face a new competitor: German social TV provider Couchfunk has rolled out a fully-fledged internet TV platform offering public and commercial TV channels as live-streams.

TV.de which also contains an EPG can be accessed through the web and through apps on mobile devices. The free-of-charge, advertising-funded part of the OTT service announced in April 2014 contains 21 public TV channels and can be used without registration.

The fee-based subscription package Pro TV Paket comprises the 12 most-watched commercial TV channels: RTL, Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, VOX, RTL II, Super RTL, sixx, n-tv, Sat.1 Gold, RTL Nitro and ProSieben Maxx.

Access to the Pro TV Paket costs €12.99 per month; a 1-year subscription is offered for €99.99. There are no additional advertisments in the subscription package.

The TV.de app for smartphones and tablets is available from the Apple App Store, Google Play and the Windows Store.
