Germany’s third-largest cable operator Tele Columbus has completed the takeover of smaller market player Pepcom.
With the acquisition announced in mid-September 2015, Tele Columbus expands its coverage area to metropolitan regions such as Frankfurt, Nuremberg and Munich und strengthens its market position as the third industry force after Vodafone Kabel Deutschland and Liberty Global subsidiary Unitymedia.
The number of connected households rises to 3.6 million.
Tele Columbus purchases the cable operator reaching around 790,000 connected households for €608 million from UK-based financial investor Star Capital.
Pepcom based in Unterföhring near Munich operates more than 100 local and regional networks. Part of the company are, among other assets, a 70% shareholding in Munich-based cable operator KMS and HL komm, a fibre-optic network operator based in Leipzig.
