Polish fibre-optic TV opts for ABOX42

November 30, 2015 10.34 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Evio PolskaThe Polish fibre TV service provider Evio Polska has chosen the ABOX42-M series SmartSTB for its new TV service Telewizja Swiatlowodowa.

The rollout of the service, which was first announced in October and will be used by over 100 local fibre-optic networks throughout Poland, has already started.

Commenting on the development, Mariusz Filipiak, chairman of the board at Evio Polska, said: “The ABOX42 M-Series SmartSTB with its compelling hardware design, the latest technology hard- and software-architecture allows us to offer a complete product for advanced users on fibre networks. In addition we were able to bring our service live with least development efforts and with very short project lead-time.

“ABOX42´s experience with complex project requirements helps us to quickly develop our service. We made the right choice for our innovative ‘Telewizja Swiatlowodowa’ TV service to appoint ABOX42 as key partner of our solution. Support and flexibility during all project phases where outstanding.”

Oliver Soellner, member of the management board of ABOX42, added: “Operator services over time get more and more complex and offer much deeper functionality than in the traditional TV world. With our advanced SmartSTB platform and the rich software functions of the ABOX42 Smart SDK as well as the comprehensive ABOX42 Lifecycle Management solution, Evio was able to develop a compelling TV application with advanced TV features and a modern UI.

“Our SDK is based on fast performing HTML5 and can easily be integrated into existing operator back-ends”.
