The Czech Republic’s CME-owned Nova Group is to launch a channel aimed specifically at viewers in neighbouring Slovakia.
Known as Nova International, it will offer the most popular programmes on TV Nova that are licensed to be broadcast outside the Czech Republic.
Test transmissions of Nova International will start at the beginning of 2016 and, according to Pete Horák, the director of new projects at Nova, the group is negotiating with Slovak operators for its inclusion in their basic programming.
It will in the future be offered by satellite and cable operators in Slovakia, as well as by the SVOD service Voyo.
Nova International will replace the existing Nova FTA service currently available in Slovakia, and complement its Nova Sport 1 and Nova Sport 2 channels.
All three services will be available in HD.
