Cultuur 7 becomes Brava

November 26, 2015 09.49 Europe/London By Robert Briel

bravaTVThe Flemish Cultuur 7 channel will become Brava on December 1 and be available on the Telenet and Proximus networks.

Last month, Stingray Digital Group’s Brava acquired the Flemish TV channel Cultuur 7.

“Cultuur 7 founder Gabriël Fehervari has created a significant platform for Flemish classical music, comparable to what we’ve done in the Netherlands with Brava,” said Rob Overman, creative director of Stingray Europe.

“Not only are all of Cultuur 7’s productions maintained for viewers in Flanders and Brussels, but now, thanks to the reach of our international channel Brava HD, these contents are also available to music lovers in twelve other European countries. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring first-rate Flemish classical music to a wider audience.”

Cultuur 7 was launched in 2006 as the only Flemish culture channel. The chanel will not continue to operate under the Brava brand. The plan is to bring the amount of Belgian content to 30% of the channel’s total output.
