TEN chooses Kaltura and 3 Screen for SVOD service

November 24, 2015 08.41 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Motor Trend OnDemand - New SVOD Service Uses Kaltura OTT TV with front end from 3 Screen SolutionsUS action and adventure sports network TEN: The Enthusiast Network has selected Kaltura and 3 Screen Solutions (3SS) for the launch of its new Motor Trend OnDemand subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service.

The first SVOD service for automotive enthusiasts is based on US video technology platform provider Kaltura’s multiscreen OTT TV solution while German software solutions and services company 3SS provides front end development.

Motor Trend OnDemand is currently available on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, Roku and mobile apps for Apple iOS and Android-equipped smartphones. It will soon be extended to additional digital video devices such as Apple TV.

The service provides access to more than 1,000 hours of programming for automotive and motorcycle fans including event coverage, archives and films as well as behind-the-scenes footage from TEN’s original programmes and several new original series.

The Motor Trend OnDemand service was developed as part of a new partnership between Kaltura and 3SS. The collaboration unites 3SS’ front-end and multiscreen user interface as a custom solution added on to Kaltura’s OTT TV solution which serves as the backbone of the initial TEN service.

“Service providers, operators and media companies are all working on how to best tackle the OTT challenge to best fit their needs,” said Ron Yekutiel, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Kaltura. “Our modular OTT TV platform provides the widest range of capabilities, covering every business model and device. Joining forces with great tech partners like 3SS also allows customers to easily deploy custom solutions and integrate with existing systems and workflows.”
