Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has approved ER Telecom’s application to buy five operators in Irkutsk.
ComNews reports the acquisitions, of Irkutsk Business Network, Viakom, Sibtelecom, Corvet Telecom and Irkutsk Telecom will probably cost the company in the region of R100 -150 million (€1.44 – 2.16 million).
They will also strengthen its position in the city’s broadband market, where it currently has a share of 28%.
Meanwhile, its pay-TV share in Irkutsk currently stands at around 30%.
