Russia’s Rostelecom has formed an M&A company and allocated funds totalling R10 billion (€145.1 million).
However, reports Kommersant and AKTR, market sources are sceptical that it will achieve the objective of increasing Rostelecom’s subscriber base by 600,000-800,000.
Rostelecom is expected to target regional broadband providers, with each transaction costing in the region of R1.5 billion.
Some sources say that the new M&A still requires the approval of the Federal Property Management Agency.
