Poland’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has awarded a 10-year satellite licence to a new channel named Top Kids.
According to Satkurier, the licence holder is Michael Winnicki Entertainment, which already operates the channels Power TV and Adventure HD.
Top Kids will be distributed by Eutelsat Hot Bird 13 at 13 degrees East, though at this stage it is unclear if it will an encrypted or FTA service.
It will be on air for at least 12 hours daily and offer viewers a mix of local and foreign content, with that produced in Polish accounting for 33% of the total.
Top Kids could launch as soon as next month, with one of the first companies to offer the channel likely to be the Lódz-based cable operator Toya.
