SPI International’s Kino Polska will take a 49% stake in Cable Television Networks & Partners (CTNP) for PLN10 million (€2.37 million) if the decision by the Polish National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) to award the latter a licence to operate a channel on the eighth DTT multiplex (MUX-8) is final.
Currently, the sole shareholder in CTNP is the PIKSEL Foundation, established by the Polish Chamber of Electronic Communications (PIKE).
The new channel, known as ZoomTV, will be oriented towards local news and operated as a joint project between the PIKSEL Foundation and Kino Polska, with Grupa Onet.pl a content-providing partner.
