The Greek broadcaster Alpha TV has applied for a licence to operate in Cyprus.
According to Cyprus Mail and Balkans.com, the regulator is now considering its request and should it be approved a service could be launch at the beginning of next year.
Alpha TV is one of the leading stations in Greece and already has an agreement with Cyprus’ Sigma channel to show some of its programmes.
However, this is unlikely to be renewed if Alpha TV’s licence application is approved.
