Internet drives Kabel Deutschland

Kabel Deutschland Zentrale UnterföhringBroadband internet access has been the draught horse of Kabel Deutschland in Q2 2015/16 with Germany’s largest cable operator increasing its number of internet customers by 98,000 to 2.8 million between July 1 and September 30, 2015.

The number of premium TV customers (pay-TV, PVR) rose by 38,000 to 2.6 million. 2.19 million customers have signed up to receive the commercial, advertising-funded free-to-air TV channels in HD quality for an extra fee. The figure amounted to 1.9 million one year ago.

The Vodafone subsidiary increased its turnover by 7.3% to €536million compared with the same period last year while the EBITDA grew by 8.1% to €263million.

Net profit rose from €67 million to €81 million.
