Hungary’s Competition Office (GVH) has approved the sale of the national commercial broadcaster TV2 to Andrew G.Vajna.
BBJ reports that Vajna’s company Magyar Broadcasting Co submitted a request to the GVH on October 16 to clear the acquisition.
As the company has no involvement in the broadcast industry, there were no concerns about concentration.
However, the GVH also made the point that it had no position with regards to a potential civil law suit on the matter.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, the ownership of TV2 is disputed by Vajna on the one hand and Károly Fonyó on the other, with both claiming to have bought the station last month from Zsolt Simon and Yvonne Dederick.
