ProSiebenSat1 has filed an objection against the takeover of the Hungarian national commercial broadcaster TV2 by Károly Fonyó.
Local reports say that the German group, a previous owner of TV2, claims that its approval would have been required for the sale to take place as it had a veto right granted when it extended a loan to Zsolt Simon and Yvonne Dederick, the most recent owners of TV2.
The dispute over the ownership of TV2 broke out earlier this month, when the Hungarian-American film maker Andrew G. Vajna announced he had bought the station.
However, Fonyó, who is a business associate of Lajos Simicska, then claimed he had bought TV2 two days earlier through exercising a pre-purchase option secured by his company Megapolis Media in 2013.
