Sport1 US, the German pay-TV channel for US sports fans, will continue to show the games of US basketball league NBA live in the next two years.
The broadcaster secured the rights from London-based Perform Group for the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The deal ensures that, with NFL, NHL and MLB, the rights of all four major North-American sports leagues will remain in the hands of Sport1 US.
Sport1 US will screen up to 120 games of the regular season, the playoffs and the NBA finals per season. Like in previous years, three matches will be shown live or time-shifted each week.
With Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks), Dennis Schröder (Atlanta Hawks), Tibor Pleiß (Utah Jazz) and Chris Kaman (Portland Trail Blazers), four German players are part of the current NBA season.
