EarthTV offers Camera Cloud to broadcasters

October 28, 2015 10.56 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Earth TVBerlin based earthTV, a digital production company specialized in the capture and storage of images from around the world, will be offering the TV news industry full access to the earthTV Camera Cloud, as well as 200 selected external Ski and Weather Webcams from the earthTV platform.

EarthTV operates a fleet of 40 Full HD broadcast cameras operating 24/7 in 26 countries permanently installed at iconic locations around the globe. For the upcoming winter season earthTV has signed agreements with over 200 Ski and Weather webcams across Europe and the USA, also fully integrated into the earthTV eco system for clients who want to “spice up” their earthTV content.

New for News Xchange: The earthTV Camera Cloud offers access to constantly recorded high-res videos from all earthTV cameras. The videos are tagged with metadata that ensures impressive picture quality, video content, weather and location information. The images are transformed into customised programmes via earthTV’s Broadcast Playout Servers and translated into several languages for easy integration into professional broadcast workflows as well as automated consumer applications. They are adaptable to any channel design identity.

Producing 300 short programs every day in ten different languages airing across 30 TV channels based in 25 countries. Earth TV’s flagship programme The World Live is probably one of the most successful formats in the history of television with over 200,000 live shows produced and over two million different design and language version delivered to clients around the globe.

EarthTV’s World Weather Today programme shows the daily temperature with matching weather clips to each of the seven featured city cameras. One of the many features is the display not only of the weather forecast data and graphics, but the weather prediction in real moving images that are automatically rendered from earthTV’s rich weather clips database.
