Sony secures Viasat Hungarian assets

Viasat-3-HungaryThe Hungarian Competition Office (GVH) has approved the acquisition of Viasat Hungária by Sony Pictures Television Network (SPT).

According to BBJ and Origo, the deal, which will see SPT buy 100% of shares in the company and thereby become the sole owner of the commercial services Viasat 3, Viasat 6 and Viasat Play, will be concluded in a few days time.

It will also mark a significant expansion of SPT’s Hungarian portfolio, which currently consists of AXN, AXN Black, AXN White, AXN Now and AXN Player.
