The Hungarian-American film producer Andrew G. Vajna has insisted he has bought the national TV station TV2, though adding he doesn’t “know about anything else”.
Speaking in an interview published by index.hu and reported by BBJ, Vajna added: “The money is in the escrow, so I believe we bought the company legally.
“We clearly checked all legal documents and lawyers approved them”.
He also dismissed a suggestion he might negotiate with Károly Fonyó, who claims he bought TV2 through a pre-purchase option two days before Vajna.
Vajna in addition dismissed the idea that it would take years of legal proceedings to sort out the TV2 ownership issue.
Furthermore, the denied that he was pro-government, with his aims being to build “an interesting and exciting television station, which will be successful”.
