Roku has launched three of its popular streaming players in the French market. The Roku Streaming Stick, Roku 2 and Roku 3 have been made available from the FNAC retail chain and online with Amazon and TV Corner.
Among 1,500 streaming channels are Netflix, Google Play, Spotify, YouTube, Daily Motion and France 24. Local channels are also being added to the Roku Channel Store including La VOD Videofutur, Deezer and Arte, which are expected to be added in the near future.
“Roku’s launch in France is great news for both consumers and content providers like us. Roku is an open platform addressing the OTT market in France which is also one of our main targets,” said Mathias Hautefort, CEO at Videofutur.
“Our aim is to make our service La VOD Videofutur available to all French consumers. In order to achieve that we have to be available on major streaming platforms, including Roku.”
Roku is also promoting the French language programming on Netflix, Google Play, as well as food channels Tastemade and iFood.tv, music, film and TV.
Recommended retail prices are €54.99 for the Streaming Stick, €89.99 for the Roku 2 and €1119.99 for the Roku 3.
