The Medical Channel has made its debut in Bulgaria, where it is being distributed by the TV and internet provider Escom.
The IPTV and cable delivered service is operated by London-based Limeclip Ltd and made its debut in June last year.
It is already available in four other CEE countries thanks to agreements with SBB, Telemach Slovenia, Telemach BiH, MAXtv, Radijus, Vektor, T-2, VIPtv and B.net.
Escom will now offer its content to an additional 8,000 subscribers in Bulgaria.
Commenting on the launch, Nives Lepin, Limeclip Ltd’s channel distribution manager, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to be airing on Escom,’ she said. ‘We realise there is a shortage of accurate, good-quality health information available to the public.
“But, by launching a fully localised channel in Bulgaria, it allows us to communicate vital health messages from trusted voices to a new, and wider audience.”
Sheni Delcheva, executive director at Escom, added: “Escom is a company founded in 1990, which is constantly developing and improving the quality and variety of its services, despite the tough market conditions.
“We consider that by launching The Medical Channel on our platform, we will offer our customers a unique and high-quality product they will admire.
‘We are delighted to partner with The Medical Channel, providing high-quality, medically-accurate programming for our customers, interested in health-related topics”.
