The Romanian regulator ANCOM will hold a new auction for DTT multiplexes next year, according to Bogdan Iana, its executive director.
Speaking at the International Digital Forum in Bucharest, he added that “the documentation of the auction for awarding the digital television multiplexes that are still available will be launched for consultation by the end of this year”.
In the new auction, two national, 27 regional and 18 local multiplexes will again be offered, having not been awarded in previous selection procedures.
Between March 2014 and March this year ANCOM organised three such procedures for awarding DTT multiplexes. It eventually awarded three national and 14 regional and local multiplexes.
ANCOM has also already awarded the licences for the use of radio spectrum for all the awarded multiplexes, as well as the assignment authorisations for the national multiplexes acquired by the National Radiocommunications Company.
