HbbTV is becoming increasingly popular in the Czech Republic, with services already received on over 700,000 TV sets.
Speaking at the conference Innovation Day and quoted by Digizone, Petr Nemeth, providing data produced by the national transmission company CRa, put the figure at over 738,000 as of the end of September.
He added that he greatest concentrations were found in Prague and Central Bohemia (around 180,000), and there were also large numbers in Moravia-Silesia (100,000) and South Moravia (over 80,000), with the fewest being in the Karlovy Vary region (20,000).
All told, there were on average 17.98 connected devices per 100 households.
HbbTV technology is currently used in the Czech Republic by the terrestrial broadcasters Ceska Televize (CT), Prima and Ocko.
