Türksat/Teledünya adds SPI channels

October 6, 2015 12.56 Europe/London By by ROBERT BRIEL, MIPCOM2015, CANNES

TeledUnyaSix channels from SPI’s portfolio are being launched by Türksat/Teledünya, the largest cable operator in Turkey.

The channel line-up picked up by Türksat includes: FilmBox and FilmBox Arthouse (movie channels), FightBox and Fast’nFunBox (sports channels), DocuBox (a documentary channel) and an international music channel 360 TuneBox.

All channels are currently being localised in Turkish. FightBox and Fust’nFunBox will feature a Turkish voice over while the two movie channels and DocuBox will have Turkish subtitles. 360TuneBox, which presents a wide selection of independent music videos from all over the world, will be broadcast in original version.

“We are pleased to announce this important deal with Türksat in Cannes as Turkey is this year’s MIPCOM Country of Honor,” said Murat Muratoglu, Country Manager for Turkey at SPI International and FilmBox.

‘’We are very excited about the launch of our channels on Türksat/Teledünya, the country’s largest cable operator. SPI’s presence and distribution in Turkey will be growing rapidly with its channels being localized to Turkish” added Mr. Muratoglu who is a Turkey national and oversees SPI’s operations from the Istanbul’s office.

In addition to the linear channels Türksat/Teledünya also offers its customers access to FilmBox Live, a multi screen VoD service which features live-streaming channels and a huge VoD library.
