Bloomberg Media make two EMEA appointments

October 6, 2015 10.52 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Gary GroenheimBloomberg Media has announced two key appointments within its senior commercial media team serving Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Gary Groenheim becomes Head of Partnerships for the region, having relocated from his role in Hong Kong as Commercial Director of Bloomberg Television, Asia Pacific, and Hannah Musisi joins Bloomberg from CNN International as Distribution Manager.

Groenheim’s new brief focuses on launching and managing new media partnerships, as well as building relationships with existing partners. His role also entails developing innovative and localised television, digital, print and radio content partnerships with companies ranging from start-ups to global media companies.

In her new role, Musisi oversees the negotiation of television channel distribution agreements with cable, satellite, terrestrial, IPTV, VOD, OTT and other operators in the EMEA region. Prior to joining Bloomberg Media, she spent six years at CNN International as EMEA Business Development Manager.

Both Groenheim and Musisi report to Bloomberg Media’s publishing director in EMEA, Justin Dewhirst, and are based in Bloomberg’s European headquarters in London.

“Gary’s appointment to Head of Partnerships is a natural one, allowing him to build on his long-standing commercial and marketing experience to enhance our licencing and franchising businesses while Hannah’s valuable and relevant experience speaks for itself. As the reach and influence of Bloomberg’s media products continue to grow in the EMEA region, these roles are vital, and I’m thrilled to announce both appointments, recruiting industry talent of this calibre as members of our growing team,” said Dewhirst.

The news follows a number of senior executive appointments, most recently Penny Bartram as Head of Solutions in April, and the launch of the company’s first-ever digital regional property Bloomberg Business Europe.

In addition to Bloomberg Business Europe, Bloomberg Media includes mobile, television, digital video, radio, print magazines and live events and is led by Managing Director for EMEA Adam Freeman.
