Roll-out might also take place in a number of other European countries, including Belgium, Luxemburg and Switzerland by the end of the year.
Roku offers direct access to a large number of OTT streaming services, including YouTube and Netflix, as well as national broadcasters in each country where it is active. In The UK, Roku offers BBC iPlayer, Now TV, ITV Player and many others.
A line-up in France could include Dailymotion, but would need major broadcasters such as Canal+, TF1, M6 and France Televisions in order to succeed.
In the US, Roku is no leading the online streaming market, ahead of Apple TV, Amazon and Google Chromecast.
