German internet service provider 1&1 has commenced giving the customers of its IPTV platform 1&1 Digital-TV the possibility to subscribe to the pay-TV packages of Sky Deutschland following a distribution deal signed between both companies.
The lineup comprises the complete Sky portfolio from basic package Sky Welt to premium bouquets Sky Film, Sky Sport and Sky Fußball-Bundesliga.
Through the agreement with 1&1, Sky is now available on all large German cable networks and IPTV platforms.
The United Internet subsidiary launched its digital TV service in February 2015. The offering is based on Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV platform Entertain and can be subscribed to by all 1&1 ADSL customers with a telephony and internet flat-rate tariff of 50Mbps or 100Mbps.
