French channel group Trace will be launching Trace Gospel in November with a French and an English version.
The broadcaster, which is now majority owned by MTG (Modern Times Group), is also expanding is Trace FM radio station to the Ivory Coast as well as bringing its Brazilian music channel Trace Toca to France and Portugal.
For the market in South Africa, Trace will develop a special service for mobile. Also on the cards is the launch of a subscription VOD service. The new on-demand service might not be able to offer as much content as CanalPlay or Netflix, but its urban and afro-caribbean programming should attract enough people, according to Trace CEO Olivier Laouchez.
