Hungary now has around 1.1 million homes receiving broadband services via cable.
Data published by the regulator NMHH indicates that the total, as of July and based on data supplied by the largest operators, stood at 1,057,100, of which around two-thirds (639,758) were via DOCSIS 3.0. Meanwhile, the total number of broadband subscriptions via FTTx stood at 417,580 and there were also 783,784 xDSL subscriptions.
There was little change in terms of market leadership in the fixed broadband sector, with Telekom still accounting for a share (36.2%) equivalent to its two main rivals UPC (21.8%) and Digi (14.5%) combined. Invitel (9.5%), VidaSat (2.8%), Tarr (2.6%), PR-Telekom (2%) and Parisat (0.5%) were the next largest providers.
Telekom also claimed top spot in the fixed voice sector, with a market share of 54.9%.
