Ukraine has enacted a law curtailing Russian ownership of media services in the country.
According to AKTR and TV-Digest, the legislation, which was passed in the Ukrainian parliament (Verkhovna Rada), prohibits Russian citizens or companies registered in Russia to be participants in TV and radio stations, as well as to launch them.
All media companies will now be requited to disclose their ownership, with implantation of the law being the responsibility of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting in Ukraine.
