Eircom has doubled its TV base over the last 12 months, leading CEO Richard Moat to describe TV uptake as “encouraging”.
The Irish telco reported full year results that showed TV has added 19,000 new subs, taking the installed base to 39,000.
“25% of customers now avail of our TV or mobile bundles and we remain the only operator in the market to offer a quad play of services,” said Moat.
Set in the context of the Irish market as a whole, Eircom still has a lot of work to do, if it wants to be a serious TV player. In contrast UPC Ireland, which has just announced another rebrand to Virgin Media, has 505,000 customers.
EBITDA for the full year was €481 million, an increase of 3%.
