GameFly video game streaming on Samsung Smart TVs

August 26, 2015 09.45 Europe/London By Robert Briel

GameflyGameFly, a US-based console game subscription service, will expand the availability of its GameFly Streaming service on Samsung Smart TVs to now include the U.S, Canada and eight additional European countries.

This expansion grows the number of markets with access to GameFly Streaming on Samsung Smart TVs to 20, adding to recent launches in Brazil, Israel, Mexico and six European markets.

“For anyone with a Samsung Smart TV in their living room, the TV is a gaming gateway right out of the box — no need to buy another console,” said Young Chan Kim, Samsung VP, Visual Display Service Business Team.

“GameFly streaming delivers content for both gamers and families and the subscription format is a very cost effective way to play a wide variety of games.”

GameFly Streaming bundles games such as Batman Arkham Origins, Lego Batman 3, GRID 2, and F.E.A.R. together in packages that can be played directly on Samsung Smart TVs. These include a Hardcore Pack featuring games such as Darksiders and Red Faction, a Lego Pack with titles like Batman (1, 2 and 3) and Lord of the Rings, as well as an All Around pack. Game packages start at $6.99 a month.

“Samsung is a global leader in consumer technology, and we are thrilled to deliver a console-quality video game experiences to their Smart TVs,” said David Hodess, CEO of GameFly.

“Samsung’s global reach is a great way to bring GameFly Streaming to consumers across the globe.”

Most 2014 and 2015 Samsung Smart TVs will support GameFly. Recommended gamepads include the Logitech F310, F710 and Xbox wired controller.
