The greatest interest in the upcoming privatisation of Telekom Srbija has so far been shown by US investment funds.
Quoting Michael Kirby, the US ambassador to Serbia, RTS reports that they have turned to the US embassy for advice about the country.
Kirby added that they the funds would take part in the competition and it would all depend on who could offer the best deal, not only in terms of money but also other factors.
Eight non-binding bids for Telekom Srbija have been received and those to be shortlisted will be known next Monday, August 17.
The Serbian government is seeking a significantly higher offer than the €1.1 billion submitted for a 51% stake in the telco four years ago.
Separately, Akter reports that bids for the news agency Tanjug and local Belgrade TV and radio station Studio B will be opened by Serbia’s privatisation agency today (August 13).
The capital value of Studio B, which is owned by the City of Belgrade, has been put at €528,626.
It will be sold at 51% of its estimated value if it cannot be privatised by November 1.
