The overwhelming majority (92%) of Czech viewers prefer to watch programming on a TV screen rather than PCs or mobile devices.
A survey undertaken by the national transmission company Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa) also found that typical households had six favourite TV stations, though the vast majority (75%) watched 16 or more channel.
Furthermore, TV viewing is still very much a shared experience, with two people sitting down in front of a main screen in primetime in over half (54%) of households.
Significantly, more than a quarter of respondents said they watched programmes on laptops (27%) and PCs (29%).
Smartphones and tablets were used by 8% and particularly favoured for short-term monitoring of news content.
The survey also found that almost a third were interest in online TV archives, providing they are free.
