3 Screen Solutions (3SS), a German provider of customised software solutions and services to the multiscreen digital entertainment industry, has been appointed by German news channel n-tv to develop its new n-tv app.
The company will design the application end-to-end using the HbbTV standard and implement it for usage on multiple consumer devices including smart TV sets.
“3 Screen Solutions has deep understanding of what makes a great viewer experience across multiple screens and how to make it all happen seamlessly,” said Eva Messerschmidt, head of new media at n-tv. “We were impressed by their innovative ideas and collaborative approach, and so we’re looking forward to sharing the new n-tv app with our valued audience.”

Since its inception in 2009, 3SS has created multiscreen solutions for companies including Kabel Deutschland, Unitymedia, Swisscom, Telefónica o2, Eutelsat, Siemens, Rovi, Netgem, Warner Brothers, ProSiebenSat1, Red Bull Media House and Bosch reaching a total of more than 130 million people.
