Orange Armenia was established in 2009 after Orange acquired a mobile telecoms licence. Since then it has deployed an extensive 3G+ network in the capital, Yerevan, and rural areas and become the country’s leading mobile internet provider.
It had 630,000 customers as of the end of 2014.
Ucom first announced on July 22 that discussions between the two parties were under way and that they involved international financial institutions.
The company operates the largest new generation fibre-optic network in Armenia and provides its subscribers with triple play services.
